I led IBM Cloud through its initial launch (2014) and growth phase. Per IBM's 2015 Annual Report (p. 6) the platform, “was created by IBMers using Agile and Design Thinking approaches. It has grown rapidly ... onboarding 15,000 developers a week.” I grew the design team from 10 to 80 reports, working across product management, design, and engineering to launch Containers, Cloud Functions, and other key services.
I built a comprehensive user journey mapping system to improve UX metrics. After setting up analytics, I initiated a growth hacking team. The Infrastructure team under my direction improved conversion in a key virtual server ordering flow by 4x, by instrumenting a key flow for funnel analysis, taking baseline metrics, doing a redesign, A/B testing it, launching and then scaling traffic gradually over to the new flow.
